Historical village of Charroux
We are located on the outskirts the little village of charroux in the Vienne department of the Poitou-Charentes region in western France. The remains of the Benedictine Charroux Abbey, founded in the 8th century, are preserved in the town.

Historic town of Verteuil
The nearby beautiful historic town of Verteuil is on the pilgrimage route that leads from Tours to Santiago de Compostelle.
The town is overlooked by the castle that situated on the banks of the river – it’s a pretty place to explore with several.

Visiting brocantes, braderies and vide greniers is almost a national pastime in France. Ask us about the best local flea markets.

Pilgrims Walk
St. Jacques de Compostelle passes through Charroux and we regularly have pilgrims staying with us for some rest and recuperation.
Heading south, it crosses the Spanish border into the Basque country and leads to the town of St. Jean Pied de Port, or on to Spain for the more energetic.
